Are you facing troubles and going through tough times? Are these difficult circumstances causing you to worry and are weighing heavy on your heart?
Do not worry. There is a great hope for you. There were many people in the past who went through great difficulties and many people who are currently facing big problems, but these people are joyful as they go through tough situations. The reason is because they know the God of Bible who gives them hope even in the midst of life’s most difficult circumstances.
Jesus gives us assurance through Bible that gives us joy and peace even in difficult times. In John 16:33 Jesus told his own disciples “in this world you will have trouble”. In the same verse Jesus says “but take heart! I have overcome the world”. So, you too can overcome the troubles in this world.
Now, you may be wondering how can I overcome the world? Well, the Bible provides you the answer.
According to 1 John 5:4, “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.” This means whoever is born again (or saved by grace through faith), overcomes the world and the troubles of the world. Again, Jesus says in John 14:1 “Let not your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me”. Believe in me means trusting in the Word of God. Jesus is the Word of God according to John 1:1-3 and Revelation 19:13.
The Word of God says in Philippians 4:6 “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
When you are born again, believe in Jesus and submit your prayers to God with thanksgiving about the difficult situations you are going through, you will find yourself being joyful and at peace even through the toughest times. The peace of God shall guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7) during this difficult season of your life.
